The road to achieving biliteracy in a dual language/immersion classroom takes a lot of work and most importantly, takes a lot of collaboration. This session will highlight the importance of the DL/I and English Language Arts teachers sharing the same vision and working together as a unified front to achieve biliteracy in a DL/I classroom.
Examine the seven strands of the Guiding Principles of Dual Language Education from Center of Applied Linguistics in order to reflect on and improve their DLI program.

This session is invite only for kindergarten Dual Language Immersion teachers and co-teachers in the DLI program. During the first 3-hour session, we will go over the basics, including the assessment, instruction, reports overview and resources overview, navigating through the Istation website and App. We will use the second 3-hour session, after lunch, to dig deeper into reports for grouping students and discuss small-group Teacher Directed Lessons, as well as looking for and saving lessons that will be useful for the upcoming first six weeks of class.
