The Culture of Care training prepares educators to deliver breathing, mindful movement, and relaxation exercises in the classroom, and to train colleagues to do the same. With a little practice, the exercises are simple for educators to learn and share. The brain, like all other organs, is vulnerable to disease. People with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities ore substance use issues often exhibit behaviors which others may not understand. Instead of receiving compassion and acceptance, people with disabilities may experience hostility, discrimination and stigma. The people experiencing the issues often label and stigmatize themselves. They may put up barriers which can prevent proper attention and treatment. This presentation explores issues of stigma and ways to overcome it.

Psychosis Simulation involves an interactive learning simulation of hearing voices. Participants will learn the symptoms and signs of psychosis, as well as the risk factors, incidence and treatment options. Participants will need to bring their own smartphone and ear buds.
