We’ve all heard our students talk about how they want to level up in their favorite video game, but how do we get them to be just as passionate about leveling up in their academics? We believe one way is to offer solid support through guided instruction. In this session, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the core values of guided instruction, ways to encourage academic growth and deeper thinking through this important practice, and why it is important in every K-12 classroom. As a bonus, we will unpack the instructional moves in this workshop that encourage EmpowerED teaching and learning. For those who attended the Summer Instructional Leadership Institute, this session was formerly titled “Transforming Learning through Guided Instruction.
